Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and community-driven Community Manager to play a central role in the daily operations and member experience at NIH.

As one of two Community Managers, you will serve as a key point of contact and the face of NIH, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and well-functioning environment for members while supporting both physical and digital community engagement.

You will work closely with the Nordic partner organizations, representing all five Nordic countries, and contribute to strengthening NIH’s position as a leading Nordic hub in Silicon Valley.

All five Nordic countries are represented on the NIH’s Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement & Experience

  • Act as the primary point of contact for members and visitors

  • Create a welcoming and professional environment in the house

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding, including agreements and communication

  • Maintain a high-quality member experience onsite and digitally

  • Develop and support community initiatives and engagement activities

2. Communication & Digital Presence

  • Manage and update communication channels (website, LinkedIn, newsletters)

  • Produce and distribute newsletters and event communications (e.g., Mailchimp)

  • Maintain accurate member profiles, logos, and content across platforms

  • Support execution of communication strategies


3. Operations & Administration

  • Oversee daily office operations and logistics

  • Maintain CRM systems and administrative documentation

  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail and general office coordination

  • Ensure the workspace is organized, stocked, and fully functional

  • Support basic financial administration (invoices, accounts)

4. Events & Program Support

  • Support development, planning and execution of onsite and virtual events

  • Coordinate logistics, communication, and follow-ups

  • Assist in hosting delegations, meetings, and networking activities

5. Coordination & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Nordic partner organizations

  • Support internal coordination and scheduling

  • Contribute to cross-team initiatives and partnerships in Silicon Valley

Requirements

  • Strong ability to work independently with a proactive and structured approach

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for community building

  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, international environment

  • Experience with communication tools (e.g., social media, Mailchimp, CMS)

  • Detail-oriented with solid administrative and operational skills

  • Flexible, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset

  • Fluency in English required; a Nordic language is a strong advantage

Working Conditions & Compensation

  • Part-time contract position (2-3 days a week onsite)

  • Hourly rate: $50 

  • Valid U.S. work permit required
