Welcome to our second Nordic Talks Japan event!
This time, the talk will aim at exploring models and solutions for sustainable development in the textile industry through material development and research and to change the mindset in transition to a circular economy in the fashion industry and on to consumers.
To abandon the old, unsustainable “take-make-waste” linear economy is key to solving the climate and biodiversity crisis. Circular economy solutions are needed to safeguard biodiversity and contribute to achieving the SDGs, in particular, SDG 12 on responsible production and consumption.
We will highlight how the fashion industry can shape a circular economy from within. An important theme is the latest material innovations in the fashion industry as a means to introduce circularity and sustainable industry development. We will also take a closer look at the dialogue being developed between the fashion industry, civil society and textile recycling companies and how the fashion industry sees their sustainable choices as a marketing tool.
Join us for an inspiring conversation on what we can do to realize circularity in the fashion industry. Through Nordic Talks Japan, we strive to create a platform for exchange and dialogue to open doors for even closer social and economic relations to work together towards a sustainable future between the Nordic countries and Japan.

気候と生物多様性の危機を解決するためには、従来の直線的経済を放棄することが鍵となります。生物多様性を保護し、SDGs、特に責任ある生産と消費に関するSDG#12の達成に貢献するためには、循環型経済のソリューションが必要不可欠です。
当イベントは、素材開発や研究を通じて、テキスタイル産業の持続可能な発展のためのモデルやソリューションを探り、ファッション業界や消費者の循環型経済への移行を促すことを目指します。
具体的には、ファッション業界がどのようにして内部から循環型経済を形成することができるかを紹介します。重要なテーマは、循環型社会と持続可能な産業発展を導入する手段としての、ファッション業界における最新の素材イノベーションです。また、ファッション業界、市民社会、繊維リサイクル企業の間で展開され始めている対話や、ファッション業界が持続可能な選択をどのようにマーケティングツールとして捉えているかについても詳しくご紹介します。
