About Nordic Sports Tech Challenge
Silicon Valley - California
The contest targets the top sports technology startups from the Nordic region: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Startups could submit projects under one of the five selected tracks: wearable technology and smart clothing, virtual reality and augmented reality, sports analytics and artificial intelligence, fan experience, and eSports.
After the deadline, the projects have been screened by a carefully chosen group of judges with deep understanding of sports and technology. The judges are coming from highly respected organizations, such as Sweden Football Association, Gatorade, Google, Samsung, FC Barcelona and Cruyff Institute.
The finalists for each track will be announced soon and they will have an opportunity to pitch on stage in Helsinki during the Smash summit November 28-29 where the winners will be chosen. The track winners will be invited to Silicon Valley to participate in a program and showcase their innovations at an exclusive event organized by Nordic Innovation House in March 2018.

To whom it may concern,
On behalf of Smash and Nordic Innovation House, we wanted to take time to address the concerns our partners, network, and any applicant to the Nordic Edition of Sports Tech World Cup may have regarding the discrepancies between Podium Silicon Valley and N3XT Sports with whom we have thus far collaborated with an open mind.
Smash and Nordic Innovation House have been an integral part of planning and managing the Nordic Edition of Sports Tech World Cup since its inauguration and our first and foremost interest is in making sure that the participating companies will get the opportunities they have been promised.
Without taking any sides concerning the discussion of the ownership of the Sports Tech World Cup, we have decided to take responsibility for organizing the pitch competition and the following Sports Tech program in Silicon Valley. This is to ensure that the participating companies can be confident that whatever happens regarding the disputes in connection to the Sports Tech World Cup, the pitch competition will take place in Smash, Helsinki on November 28th-29th and the winners will be invited to participate in a dedicated program in Silicon Valley in 2018.
In order to keep the competition going and to keep it separate from any complications, we will rename it Nordic Sports Tech Challenge. We thank you for your confidence and assure that we will do our most to meet the expectations of all parties involved.
We look forward to seeing you at Smash in Helsinki in November!
