For Saemundur Oddsson, co-founder of Swedish startup SidekickHealth, TINC Spring 2016 helped accelerate the business and has been a valuable source of knowledge.

“These advisors have deep knowledge in the HealthTech space we are operating in and have accelerated our US market entry a lot.”

Having formerly put effort into research and learning, Saemundur said TINC helped bring the company to the next level in terms of maneuvering the business landscape.

“We have learned a lot about the dynamics of fundraising,” he said. He also pointed out the many networking opportunities and the benefits of having a soft-landing space and virtual office. “There’s a long list of good things to say about TINC.”

The program gives a lot but also expects a lot from the companies. The personalized program places extra emphasis on developing each company according to its needs. “You have to find time to be able to have your own meetings and take part in the operations back home,” said Saemundur. “The program is intense.”

Comparing Silicon Valley to Scandinavia, Saemundur said the fast-paced culture where you get to meet, talk and form relationships with people and companies was especially noteworthy. “We would like to bring that back to Sweden.”
