A summary from TINC week two

Week two of the TINC Accelerator is nearly over, and the participants are already midways in the program - time flies when you're having fun!

Week two started off with an introduction to PR and Communication in the US with Aoife Kimber. After a sunny outdoor lunch in the middle of the beautiful Stanford campus, it was time for the weekly CEO/Founder Workshop series with Julie Hanna. Last advisor of the day, Sean Percival, introduced the companies to 500Startups, and more importantly what metrics you should keep track off (both to keep track of company progress, and to be ready for your next investor meeting).

Wednesday's theme was startup funding models and financing. It started of with an introduction to how angel investment and angels work in the US with Raj Sandhu, thereafter a dive into the world of VC. First out was Silicon Valley VC Shomit Ghose with the US perspective, thereafter our investor in residence here at NIH, Arne H Tonning, introduced us to the Nordic perspective. The day was finalized with a fireside chat with Johan Brenner from the Swedish VC firm Creandum.

The last workshop of the week was with Julie Hanna at Innovation Norway's downtown San Francisco office. Julie talked about how to grow your company, while introducing the participants to concepts and real world examples of what works, and why it does in fact work.

PS: Are you, or do you know a startup with dreams of global scale? Why not apply for our next program starting in the fall? Next batch will for the first time include talented Finnish startups as well!
